Q: WHY SEND YOUTH ON INTERNATIONAL TRIPS?
A: Here are just a few of the benefits of youth travel:
1- We come back from these trips as a very strong body of 30-40 teens/ young adults and their mentors:
Those experiences help build a community like nothing alike, the adventurers come with a very good connection between one another and between them and their mentors and it helps these connections remain for a very long time. A great example is; one of our mentors was having his wedding overseas and he invited so many of the group that traveled with us over the years and believe it or not many of them made it to his wedding even though they had to fly to attend the wedding.
2- It enhances tolerance for uncertainty
During travel, things could happen that you’re not planning for, and this exposes our youth to new situations, real life situations when dad and mom are not around and they have to take some decision with themselves or with the mentors, we usually do the "shurah concept" where whenever we go through any situation we gather them and sit and decide together what our next move will be.
3-A boost in confidence
A lot of kids, when they get to travel without their parents, they feel responsible, especially the older sibling, all throughout the experience about their younger sibling.
4- A real life education
You’ll learn from travel like nothing else, you get exposed to so many different situations, cultures, people, languages, etc.
Q: HOW CAN IT ENHANCE MY CHILD'S ISLAMIC VALUES?
1- Exposure to the Islamic heritage:
Particularly when we go to either Muslim countries or countries that have great Islamic history like Spain, this exposure we’ve seen so many times. The youth growing up in the US/ Canada don’t know much about the Islamic heritage or about the Islamic culture, etc.
2- Helps build some daily Islamic routines:
When we wake up to pray Fajr and then we recite the morning azkar every day together for 10 days straight, they come to memorize them just from the group action. They learn a few things and when they coe back, they embed it into their daily routines from the sunnan and the Islamic teachings.
Q: WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR GENDER INTERACTIONS?
Answer: We abide by the Islamic rules.
1- We split during activities:
The girls have female mentors and the guys have male mentors, we have a group leader from each gender and but we operate as one group. However, during activities we split.
2- Curfew:
We have very clear rules around curfew. Past curfew everyone has to be in their rooms, mentors take turns to monitor and supervise the floor of the hotel that we are staying at.
Q: HOW DO WE WE ENSURE THE SAFTEY OF THE TRAVELERS?
Answer: Asking you to entrust us with your children on an international trip that is packed with adventure activities is not an easy ask from any parents! Here are our tools and ways that made thousands of parents confident in Arkanum Adventures...
1- Experienced and Trained Mentors:
All of our mentors are carefully selected for their experience, expertise, and passion for working with youth. They are trained in safety and risk management protocols and are equipped to handle a wide range of situations.
2- Comprehensive Safety Plan:
We have a comprehensive safety plan in place that outlines specific protocols and procedures for handling emergencies, illnesses, injuries, and other safety concerns.
3- Immediate Support:
We provide consistent support to our participants, with mentors available at all times to assist with any issues or concerns that may arise.
4- Parent Communication:
Communication with parents is also an important part of our safety protocol. We understand that parents/guardians want to know that their children are safe and secure while traveling with us, which is why we prioritize regular communication with parents throughout our trips.
5- Safe Accommodations:
We carefully select safe and secure accommodations for our participants, including hotels, lodges, and other types of lodging that meet our safety standards.
6- Transportation Safety:
We ensure that all transportation used during our trips meets safety standards and is operated by trained and licensed drivers.
7- Pre-Trip Orientation:
We provide a pre-trip orientation to all participants and their parents/guardians to ensure that they are fully informed about safety protocols, curfews, and procedures, and to address any questions or concerns they may have.

Q: HOW AM I GOING TO COMMUNICATE WITH MY CHILD WHEN THEY ARE TRAVELING OVERSEAS?
Answer: There are many ways to stay connected with your children, here are a few ways...
1- We stop to Shop for a Sim-Card:
As soon as we land we give them the option to go and buy a local sim-card.
2- Connection to Team Leaders:
We provide you with all the mentor’s phone numbers along with the group leader’s and the group leader assistant’s phone numbers
3- Follow their Journey on Social Media:
Everyday, we post a few stories on the key activities and events on our social media platforms to keep you informed and to keep you posted with what’s happening throughout the trip.
4- Roaming Services:
Nowadays it's also very easy since a lot of networks give a lot of free internet roaming services to people who travel.
